Welcome to the world of Bageecha!
Kuramathi stands out amongst Maldives family resorts with its dedication to providing an exciting holiday for the entire family.
The term Bageecha is coined from the local name for ‘Park or Garden’ and is also the name of the Kid’s Club at Kuramathi Maldives.
Open from 08:30hrs to 18:30hrs, Bageecha offers age-appropriate fun experiences to younger guests. A wide range of outdoor and indoor activities is organised for kids of 3 to 12 years including many activities such as nature walks, treasure hunts, beach activities, as well as marine life education in conjunction with the resort’s Eco Centre. Bageecha is also open from 18:30hrs to 24.00hrs by prior reservation, at extra charge.
Bageecha celebrates special occasions and festivals such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas with extra fun activities, just for the occasion! Dress up as a witch, help to decorate the Christmas tree or go on an egg hunt!
A dazzling lineup of facilities make the large island of Kuramathi one of the Maldives’ most popular resorts. There is a huge choice of restaurants including overwater The Reef with front-row Indian Ocean views.
Infinity pools overlooking the Indian Ocean. A breathtaking mile long sandbank. Paddle boarding along an impossibly blue atoll and snorkelling from the house reef.
Kuramathi caters to couples and families, with two bedroom beach houses to fit all the family!
The 360 garden, beach and water villas on the island range from simply designed Garden Villas and Beach Villas nestled in abundant vegetation (but just a short walk from the beach) to Deluxe Beach Villas that face the lagoon and luxury Pool Villas that sit right at the edge of the beach.
Two Bedroom Beach Houses sleep six; ideal for families or friends travelling together. For the iconic overwater experience, opt for a Deluxe Water Villa perched above the turquoise lagoon.
Before your daily football sessions, families can enjoy the numerous swimming pools, fitness centre, Spa with sauna and Jacuzzi, table tennis, water sports centre and of course snorkelling and diving with the Rasdhoo Dive School.
Diving here is particularly impressive, with the Rasdhoo Atoll featuring more than 20 sites that can be reached in just five to 45 minutes. Dive sites vary between channels, walls, reefs, thilas and even a couple of wrecks.
The marine life is diverse and abundant, including different types of sharks (and you will see sharks on almost every dive), eagle rays, stingrays, manta rays (November to April), turtles, barracuda, tuna, Napoleons, morays, schools of jacks and trevally, leaf fish and even the occasional whale shark.
Rasdhoo Divers operates a dive school on the island (PADI/SSI). The multi-lingual team offers an excellent diving experience for both beginners and advanced divers.
The team at Kuramathi care passionately about the natural beauty of their island and strive to find ways to protect the island’s environment with practices they can implement on a daily basis.
The Eco Centre, established back in 1999, was set up to better understand and monitor the fragile ecosystem and now runs programs on coral reef research, water temperature measurement, they maintain a coral nursery and increase awareness for guests, including educating children as part of the kids club activities.
The team are in continuous collaboration with the local community to educate and protect the environment and to provide employment and business opportunities for local people.
The island has it’s own water purification and bottling plant, in place since 2011, to minimise the use of plastic bottles. Salads and herbs are grown in the island’s hydroponic gardens. They use effective waste management methods to create nutrient-rich compost from organic waste and have energy and water saving measures.
Kuramathi offers a huge choice of dining options, ensuring that every taste is catered for during your stay.
You can choose from three Meal Plans depending on your requirements: Full Board, Basic All Inclusive, or Select All Inclusive - more details will be provided upon booking.
We highly recommend upgrading to Select All Inclusive for the full experience, which includes access to nine à la carte restaurants. Enjoy the popular Island Barbecue on the beach, savor authentic Thai dishes at Siam Garden, or indulge in fine dining at Duniye, located in the verdant heart of the island.
In addition, there are seven bars around the island serving delicious cocktails day and night, many of which offer evening entertainment. Favourites include the Sand Bar, where you can sink into a comfy beanbag with a cocktail and bury your toes in the sand, and the chic Champagne Loft.
Please note that children need to be over six years old to dine at Kobe, Duniye, Island Barbecue, The Reef, and Inguru.
To enhance your stay, the island features a weekly entertainment programme that includes discos, live music, and karaoke, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere throughout your holiday.
The Spa at Kuramathi is set amidst lush vegetation. Offering a selection of treatments based on traditional rituals from Europe, India, Thailand and Indonesia.
Kuramathi Spa uses only the best YonKa and Voya products and natural oils and ingredients.
There’s a focus on couples – as well as seven beachside couples’ treatment rooms, there’s a couples' over-water pavilion massage room and a private herbal bath treatment room.
Before your treatment, relax in the Spa Lounge and enjoy a specially blended herbal tea.
